CMR

Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is an advanced imaging technique with many clinical applications in Cardiology. It offers a wealth of information regarding the function and structure of the heart and is increasingly being used for the diagnosis and management of heart diseases.  CMR is safe for patients and does not involve ionising radiation.

Dr. Theodoros Karamitsos, is an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has been trained for 8 years on CMR in the University of Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR). He has significant experience in cardiovascular imaging and has been certified as a Level III CMR operator by the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI). He has widely published on CMR (PubMed, ORCiD). Apart from CMR, other interests include clinical Cardiology with a particular focus on heart failure (lead physician for Heart Failure Clinic at AHEPA Hospital). He offers a private Cardiology consultation service in Thessaloniki.
